Personally, I've never seen them as one of the best bands in the world or even in this genre and I highly doubt I ever will but when it comes to easily digestible music with a commercial approach, it's one of my favorite things out there! I've been familiar with Epica's music for a couple of years and always enjoyed it but I never took the time to actually go through a full album and since they've so kindly decided to visit my country for a live show, there is no better moment for that. Their blend of fast and technical heavy metal with symphonic metal elements put over a pretty accessible and catchy songwriting formula has made them a real sensation for this genre's lovers.
Epica is one of the most appreciated symphonic metal bands out there.
